American Accent Modification
|
 |
Don’t let poor communication skills slow down
your professional
development!
It is a sad but true fact... people who speak English
with a foreign accent often struggle more to succeed in America,
even if their English is grammatically and structurally correct.
It is estimated that people with strong accents lose between 25 and
50% of
their productivity due to communication problems.

What is Accent Training, why is it important,
and what can it do
for you?
People who learn a new language as teenagers or adults often transfer
the sounds and patterns of their native language into the new one
without recognizing it. Accent training helps them to hear, feel, and
produce the sounds and patterns of the new language or dialect. It can
mean the difference between being understood and being rejected.
English has become important all over the world. Lack of
successful communication in English can prevent you from jobs,
promotions, higher education, and even friendships.
Improving your pronunciation and accent gives you more confidence,
eliminates misunderstandings, and helps you to communicate more
effectively with customers, clients, co-workers, your child’s teacher,
and even the grocery store clerk!

"I think this class is very organized
and gives a great overview
for non-native speakers. It was great
